Deputies: Wegmans security agent bit while trying to stop shoplifters | Crime
A Wegmans security agent was injured last week while trying to stop two suspected shoplifters.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies say around 4 p.m. on January 18, a Wegmans security agent tried to stop two individuals who had just stolen Red Bull and other items from the Hylan Drive store. According to deputies, three suspects filled up two grocery carts with merchandise and left the store without paying. When the security officer tried to stop them, deputies say they resisted and one of the suspects bit the agent, breaking his skin.
Deputies are investigating the incident.
