Rochester Orienteering Club hosts meet April 21 at RIT | Events
The Rochester Orienteering Club will host a meet beginning at 11 a.m. April 21 at the Interfaith Center at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
The meet will feature a sprint course, a beginner course and a Score-O event. Participants in the event will be given maps of the campus with key locations noted. Participants must visit each of these locations and return to the finish line within a time limit.
In the sprint event, participants must visit the locations in a defined order during the 2-3 kilometer race.
The sprint is the first race in the club's Sprint Series Championship. Points from the race and five others throughout the summer will determine a champion.
The sprint will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Score-O begins at 1 p.m. The beginner course runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to wear walking or running gear.
The campus is located at 1 Lomb Memorial Drive, in Rochester.
