Food truck gets the green light in Henrietta

Food truck gets the green light in Henrietta

Brick-N-Motor got the green light to operate in Henrietta Wednesday night.

In a 4 to 1 decision, the Henrietta Town Board voted to grant the food truck a special use permit that would allow it to once again cook and vend at the Eagle's Landing Business Park.

The approval came under the condition that the restaurant on wheels submit to inspection by Henrietta Director of Building and Fire Prevention Terry Ekwell.

Brick-N-Motor co-owner Paul Vroman said the business isn't in the clear yet, as Ekwell may require the truck to be outfitted with a costly fire suppression system.

The City of Rochester is allowing food trucks to operate without suppression systems until 2015.

"We do have a class K chemical extinguisher on the truck," Vroman said, "which is the exact same thing that comes out of a suppression system except it's in a canister, not two tubes that stick down over the top of our equipment."

Changes coming to Olive Garden restaurants

Big changes are in store for the Olive Garden. The restaurant is planning to change its menu to include smaller plates, cheaper prices and lower calorie meals.

There are also plans to create a new logo and tone down its "old world style".

Olive Garden and other casual dining restaurants have been struggling with declining sales as people flock to less expensive chains like Chipotle.

Olive Garden has locations in Greece, Henrietta and Victor.

Chipotle Mexican Grill adding catering service

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. is adding catering service.

The Denver-based chain says its catering service will be available in Colorado starting Monday and will roll out to all of its markets including locations in Rochester, Pittsford, Greece and Henrietta in coming months.

Chipotle already has been selling mix-and-match "burritos by the box" for smaller catering orders. But the catering service is designed to feed 20 to 200 people, with each person able to customize their meals, much as they would at a Chipotle restaurant.

To kick off the service, Colorado customers who order catering for at least 20 people for Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 3 can redeem their receipts for two free entrees by Feb. 28. Catering customers who return their serving stands also can receive a free entree for later.
